Spend a Night or a Week!  From the shores of the world, lighthouses offer guest accommodations to fit a variety of price and pampering ranges. Be sure to reserve rooms early, since many lighthouses are booked nine months to two years in advance.

The Chesapeake Chapter of the U. S. Lighthouse Society, nor anyone else receive royalties or fees from any listed facility due to bookings created by the use of this listing. United States - East Coast
Florida
Amelia Island Replica, 584 Fletcher Ave, Amelia Island, FL 32034 Located a few miles from the original lighthouse in Fernandina Beach, this structure was built for personal use as a beach house. Four levels with two bedrooms, two baths, livingroom and kitchen and top floor observation deck. Continental breakfast delivered from the 1735 House, a nearby country inn. 904/261-5878
 
Fargo Blanca Marine Resort, 1966 Overseas Highway, Marathon, FL 33050 Not a real lighthouse. It is a private aid to navigation. Lighthouse has two two-bedroom apartments, one with a fully equipped kitchen. Maine
Isle au Haut Lighthouse, The Keeper’s House, Box 26, Isle Au Haut, ME 04645 Situated on an island in Penobscot Bay, this lighthouse is accessible only by mail boat. No electricity. No phones. No traffic. Amenities include three gourmet meals, a swimming pond and miles of national forest in Acadia National Park. Rooms furnished with antique period furniture. Massachusetts
Cape Ann Light Station, Rockport. Managed by Thacher Island Association, guest quarters are available. There is a limit of six people at one time, due to shortage of water. Linens are provided. All overnight guests must bring their own drinking water and food. No outdoor fires are allowed just propane stoves. Phone 508/546-2326 after May 1 and after 6:00 PM.
 
Bass River Lighthouse (The Lighthouse Inn), One Lighthouse Inn Road, Box 128, West Dennis, MA 02670 The only privately owned working lighthouse in the country, the West Dennis Light forms the center of this sprawling Cape Cod resort, hosting up to 250 guests. 508/398-2244.
 
Gurnet Point Light (Plymouth Light), 314 Spring Street, Hanson, MA 02341 Located near Plymouth. Keeper's house is a recent vintage ranch house. No additional information presently available.
 
Monomoy Point Lighthouse, Brewster. Open by appointment, the lighthouse offers stays in the keeper’s house as part of a guided tour offered by the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. Three meals, a snack, naturalist-guided tours and transportation from the museum are included. 508/896-3867.
 
Race Point Lighthouse, Nikki Nunes, PO Box 570, N. Truro, MA 02652 The Keepers house has three bedrooms upstairs. The half-bath on the first floor and full bath on the second floor are shared. Amenities include fully equipped kitchen with a gas oven, two refrigerators and two outdoor grills. Must provide bed linens, towels, food and drinking water for your stay. House water is used for everything except drinking. Open May 1 through mid-October. 508/487-9930
 
Thacher Island Lighthouse, Rockport. Thacher Island is located about one mile seaward of Rockport and is a recently designated National Historic Landmark. A six room apartment located in the keeper's dwelling is available from July 2 to September30th. The apartment is available on weekdays as well as weekends.
 
Wings Neck Lighthouse, Pocasset on Cape Cod, MA One hour from downtown Boston. There are sleeping accommodations for eight. The house has three upstairs bedrooms (1 King, two twin sets) and a pullout Queen sofa in the family room. There is a full bath upstairs, a half-bath downstairs and an outdoor shower. The property was completely renovated in 2003. The kitchen and baths have been remodeled and updated but the house was preserved in antique character and charm. The large, eat-in kitchen has every amenity including dishwasher, microwave and lobster pot! Dining al-fresco is available with outdoor furniture, a gas grill and a picnic table. Saugerties Light, PO Box 654, 168 Lighthouse Dr., Saugerties, NY 12477 Managed by Saugerties Lighthouse Conservancy. Saugerties Light is the only Hudson River lighthouse that welcomes overnight guests, making it the most unique B&B in the Valley. Second, it is the only lighthouse that you can stroll out to overland. The lighthouse can be reached via the nature preserve lying between it and the mainland. Rents all year. 845/247-0656.
 
Selkirk Lighthouse, PO Box 228, Pulaski, NY 13142 This is not a traditional B&B, since you have to rent the whole place. Think of it as housesitting for friends who happen to live in a lighthouse overlooking Lake Ontario. The rental includes all linen, blankets, pillows, pots, pans, dishes, silver, appliances and HBO. Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse, Lower Lake Road in Somerset, N.Y., at Golden Hill State Park living area includes a 1930s-style living room, kitchen, one bathroom with clawfoot bathtub and wraparound shower curtain, and three bedrooms with queen beds. Maximum six people; available year-round, $150 nightly. Bring your own bed linens, towels and groceries. A concrete pier, often used for fishing, juts into the lake. Tibbetts Point Lighthouse, RR1 Box 330, Cape Vincent, NY 13618 This youth hostel and functioning lighthouse has 26 beds in the former keeper’s quarters, a shared kitchen and an excellent view of St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario. Take a short ferry ride from Kingston, Ontario. Open mid-May through mid-October. Only $15 per person per night. 315/654-3450.
 
Rhode Island
Rose Island Lighthouse, PO Box 1419, Newport, RI 02840 Located on Narragansett Bay, this turn-of-the-century lighthouse welcomes overnight guests in two first-floor bedrooms, as well as weekly guests in a modern second-floor keeper’s apartment. The rental of the keeper’s apartment requires daily record-keeping and maintenance chores. Guests bring their own dinner and breakfast. Open all year. 401/847-4242.
 
South Carolina
Haig Point Light, Daufuskie Island. Haig Point Light was built atop a Victorian-style house in 1873. It has recently been restored and the house serves as a bed & breakfast. The light still functions as an aid to mariners. Daufuskie Island can only be reached by ferry, and horse-drawn carriages carry visitors around the island. Virginia
Smithfield Light, 415 S Church St. PO Box 486, Smithfield, VA 23431 There are two spectacular and luxurious suites in the lighthouse. One upstairs and one downstairs. The upstairs suite is the "honeymoon" style suite and is done in a romantic nautical style; the downstairs suite is the "executive" suite and decorated in Chesapeake Bay Nautical. Sand Hills Light, Five Mile Point Rd, PO Box 414, Ahmeek, MI 49901 Located 25 miles NE of Houghton, MI this totally restored 1917 lighthouse was the last land based and largest of its kind built on the Great Lakes. Furnished in Victorian charm, it still has its original lens and nautical artifacts, as well as many antiques and oil paintings. Open year round. 906/337-1744.
 
Whitefish Point Light Station, 111 Ashmun Street, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783 The oldest Light Station on Lake Superior. Relax in the adaptively restored 1923 Coast Guard Lifeboat Station Crews Quarters offering five themed rooms with queen size beds, a private bath, TV/VCR, and data ports with satellite technology, yet retain all the historic charm of a by-gone era. Two Harbors Light, PO Box 128, Two Harbors. MN 55616 Listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This lighthouse is currently a Bed and Breakfast run by the Lake County Historical Society. The grounds are very attractively kept, and the 49-foot tower is open for climbing. Rentals available May through October. Smoke free. 888/832-5606.

Alaska
Odiak Pharos / Cordova Rose Lodge, 1315 Whitshed, Box 1494, Cordova, AS 99574 The lighthouse is named "Odiak Pharos" which means light. It is registered with the Coast Guard. The Cordova Rose Lodge, located on the shore of Orca Inlet and the lighthouse sit on a barge. Every room has a spectacular view across the water of Hawkins Island, Spike Island and the city harbor backed by the snowcapped Chugach mountains. Sentinel Island Lighthouse, Northern end of Favorite Channel, twenty-five miles northwest of Juneau. The Sentinel Island Light Station was transferred from the United States Coast Guard to the Gastineau Channel Historical Society in 2004. East Brother Light Station, 117 Park Place, Richmond, CA 94801 Accessible only by boat, the restored Victorian B&B sits on an island between the San Francisco and San Pablo bays. 1873 lighthouse is fully restored with beautiful furnishings. Pigeon Point Lighthouse, Pigeon Point Rd & California Highway 1, Pescadero, CA. 94060 The four three-bedroom houses next to the lighthouse have overnight lodging for up to 50 hostellers of all ages. Each house has three male or female bunkrooms. Separate bunkrooms can be reserved for families and couples. Guest share bathrooms with hot showers, fully equipped kitchens and living rooms. Kilauea Lighthouse, Kauai. The northernmost lighthouse in Hawaii, privately owned, located in the Kilauea Wildlife Refuge, about 30 minutes away.
 
Oregon
Heceta Lighthouse and Light Keeper’s House, Yachats. Built in 1894, this Queen Ann-style keeper’s house is known as Oregon’s Jewel. The house overlooks the Pacific Ocean and has paths leading to the beach and lighthouse. Open year-round. 514/547-3696
 
Washington
Browns Point Light, Points Northeast Historical Society, 6622 Eastside Drive N.E., PMB 135 Browns Point, WA 98422 Families who want to be short-term lighthouse keepers will be able to rent the house for $100 per person per week plus a security deposit, if they agree to raise the flag, do light maintenance work around the grounds, and conduct tours of the lighthouse grounds and facilities.
 
New Dungeness Lighthouse, PO Box 1283, Sequim. WA 98382 Volunteer keepers man this remote light station 24 hours a day year-round. Volunteers stay in the keeper’s house, a separate residence from the light building. The residence is fully furnished, but keepers need to bring food and clothing for the week. Teams of two couples, sometimes with kids, are taken out on Saturdays or Friday evenings for a week’s tour of duty; previous keepers are then relieved. 360/693-9166
 
North Head Lighthouse, Long Beach Peninsula. Cape Disappointment (formally Fort Canby) State Park on the Long Beach Peninsula began renting the lighthouse keeper's house in late 1996. It's become so popular that weekends are booked months in advance. Today, visitors who rent the restored lighthouse keeper's residence can soak up the scenery and fresh ocean breezes while enjoying a mini-vacation. 360/642-3078
 
Point Robinson Lighthouse, Vashon-Maury Island Park & Recreation District, Puget Sound, WA Located on the northeast corner of Maury Island in Puget Sound, the lighthouse marks the halfway point between Seattle and Tacoma. The island is easily reached from the larger Vashon Island, via a paved road on a narrow strip of land. The south Keepers’ Quarters has been furnished as a comfortable guesthouse. It is available weekly, year-round. The Quarters will accommodate 6 persons. No pets allowed. Rental proceeds are used for the future restoration and preservation of buildings and grounds at the Pt. Bathurst Point Lighthouse, PO Box 693 Fremantle WA 6959 Lighthouse is on Rottnest Island, Western Australia. Rottnest Island is 19 km from Fremantle and it takes around 30 minutes to get there by ferry (45 minutes from Hillarys and 90 minutes from Perth City). This beautifully refurbished cottage is located near the Bathurst Lighthouse and was originally the lighthouse keepers cottage. 08/9432-91
 
Cape Borda Lighthouse, Flinders Chase National Park, PMB 246 via Kingscote 5223 The Cape Borda Lighthouse on Kangaroo Island was isolated and the scene of tragedy in its early years. It is on the western side of the island. It is the only square stone lighthouse in South Australia. Cape du Couedic Lighthouse, Flinders Chase National Park, PMB 246 via Kingscote 5223 The Cape du Couedic Lighthouse was constructed on Kangaroo Island between 1906-1909 and was the fifteenth to be built on South Australia's coast. Cape Don Lighthouse, PMB 263, Winnellie, NT, 0822, Australia (Cobourg Peninsula, Arnhem, Land, Northern Territory) Cape Don is the site of a historic lighthouse built in 1916 which is still in operation today, and Cape Don Lodge is within the newly renovated Head Lighthouse Keeper's homestead. Cape Nelson Lightstation, Victoria, Australia Established in 1884, These days the light operates automatically and is an invaluable aid to ships' Captains in checking and correcting variances in their Global Satellite Positioning equipment, flashing a warning to ships some 30 kms out to sea. The keeper’s quarters has been converted into self-contained shared accommodation: sleeps 8 (to 11) and includes a comfortable lounge area with TV, VCR and sound system. Separate dining room and kitchen. The keeper’s bunkhouse is a self-contained accommodation sleeping 5 with kitchen, dinning and bathroom facilities.
 
Cape Otway Lighthouse, This is an excellent location to base yourself - central to the Great Ocean Road and the Otway National Park with plenty of activities and walks. Head Lighthouse Keepers' Cottage can accommodate up to 16 people! Refurbished but maintaining all of the period character with four large bedrooms, lounge, dining room, open fires and two bathrooms. The house also offers fully self-contained kitchen facilities and sweeping verandahs. There are no pets, mobile phone reception or television reception at the Lightstation. Cape Willoughby Light, Flinders Chase National Park, PMB 246 via Kingscote 5223 Located on the rugged easternmost point of Kangaroo Island and overlooking treacherous Backstairs Passage, these cottages, built in 1927, form part of the lightkeepers settlement of Cape Willoughby. Stones from the original 1850s lighthouse dwellings were used to build the large white fence around the cottages. Gabo Island Lightstation, Level 10/535 Bourke Street Melbourne Victoria Australia 3000 The light tower is constructed from pink granite which was cut locally and is one of the tallest and most elegant light towers in Australia. Accommodation on Gabo Island is in the assistant lightkeeper's residence which has three bedrooms and can accommodate eight people. All linen is provided. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry and bathroom. All provisions need to be taken to the island. Keep in mind the weight limitation if traveling by air. Green Cape Lightstation, NPWS PO Box 656, Merimbula NSW 2548 (Ben Boyd National Park) Two cottages that were previously the assistant keeper's residence have been carefully restored to offer superb three-and-a-half star heritage accommodation. Each contains a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, bathroom, master bedroom (with queen sized bed), second bedroom (with two single beds) and family/lounge room (with sofa bed). (approximately mid way between Melbourne and Sydney and just 4 hours from Canberra ). The two roomy assistant Keepers quarters sleep up to six guests in each cottage. Smoky Cape Lighthouse, Lighthouse Road, Arakoon, (PO Box 304) South West Rocks, NSW 2431 Smoky Cape is one of the last major lighthouse complexes designed by James Barnet. You can choose between the Head Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage which operates as Smoky Cape Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast and the Assistant Lighthouse Keeper's Cottages for short term, self catered accommodation. Vlaming Head Lighthouse, PO Box 504, Exmouth, Western Australia 6707 Vlaming Head Lighthouse served as a beacon for mariners for over 50 years. Restored to its original working condition and reopened to the public it is ready to commence a new chapter as Australia's only kerosene burning lighthouse. Wilson’s Promontory Lighthouse, Level 10/535 Bourke Street, Melbourne, Victoria Australia 3000 The dramatic granite tower and head lighthouse keeper's residence, built in 1859, and a number of other buildings make up the lightstation precinct. All cottages are beautifully restored and are fully equipped with stove/oven, microwave, fridge, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. Cottage 2, which was the head lighthouse keeper’s residence, has one room with a queen-size bed. All other bedrooms in the three cottages have bunk beds, sleeping between two to four people per room. Andros Lighthouse, Andros Lighthouse Yacht Club and Marina, Fresh creek, Andros, Bahamas Located at the junction of Fresh Creek and the Atlantic Ocean. Two types of accommodations - a standard room with either a poolside or harbor view, and spacious villas. Villas have stone tile floors, ceiling fans and either a balcony or patio. Bird Rock Lighthouse, Landrail Point, Crooked island, Bahamas Bird Rock Light sits on an ocean shelf just 1.5 miles off the north shore of Crooked Island. Palmetto Point Light, 1145 West Camino Real, Boca Raton, FL 33486 The Palmetto Point Lighthouse is located four miles south of Governor's Harbor, situated directly on the Atlantic Ocean on the island of Eleuthera. Three bedrooms and two full baths. The master bedroom with king size bed and ten foot sliding glass door, opens to a patio and overlooks the ocean. The master bath has a six foot whirlpool. The central space is a skylight great room, which contains both living and dining areas, as well as a fully appointed kitchen. All amenities are provided, including wall oven, microwave, dishwasher, disposal, and videocassette player. A separate laundry room houses a washer and dryer. Sumburgh Head Lighthouse, The fully furnished Principle Light-keeper's House is available to rent and you can take it by the day, week or month to suit your requirements. There are four bedrooms - one double, one single (this can be used as a sitting room), one twin and leading off this room, another single room. West Usk Lighthouse, Gwent. B&B accommodation the ex-lighthouse – an unusual example of its kind, built to a unique design. In 1821, it was on an island where the Severn and Usk ran into the sea. Since then land has been reclaimed and although on one side the loudest sound is of the sea when the tide comes racing in to the foot of the building, on the other only the occasional mooing cow can be heard.
