Return to Route 5. Turn left onto Rt. 5 North for 20.8 miles. In Callaway, turn left onto Rt. 249S (Piney Pt. Road) and continue for 7.7 miles to Lighthouse Road. (Maryland Landmark sign). Turn right and follow Lighthouse Road for 1.4 miles to the end and the parking area for the lighthouse.
From Fort Washington (approx. drive time 1.5 hrs)
SHORT CUT: (using Old Fort Road South) This route is NOT recommended for RVs, extra long vehicles. Exit Park onto Fort Washington Road, turn right onto Old Fort Road South (a winding two lane road) and return to Route 210 (Indian Head Highway) then follow directions at**.
STANDARD ROUTE: Exit park onto Fort Washington Road and return to Route 210**.
** Turn right on route 210 south. Turn left onto Route 228 East. Follow Route 228 to Route 5 South. At Route 5/Route 235 split, continue on Route 5 South until you come to State Route 249 in Callaway. Turn right at traffic signal onto Route 249 South (Piney Point Road) and go approx. 7.7 miles to Lighthouse Road. (Maryland Landmark sign). Turn right and follow Lighthouse Road for 1.4 miles to the end and the parking area for the lighthouse.
