March 18 - 19, 2006 Workdays at Chincoteague

Chapter volunteers were to returned to Assateague to continue their preservation and restoration efforts. However, problems with supplies, contracts, etc. made for a change in plans. Instead of Coast Guard or lighthouse duties and chores, volunteers lent a hand to the Park Service and Fish and Wildlife by clearing trails and weather-proofing signs.

Sound like fun? The Chapter's next workday at Assateague Coast Guard Station is scheduled for October 21 - 22, 2006. To learn more about the Chapter's Volunteer Program, visit the Volunteer page on this site. If you would like to be more involved and have not yet done so, fill out the 2006 Volunteer Form.

If you are ever in doubt about a date for a Chapter event, check out the calendar on the web site.
